In this video we will show how we miter subway tile.
How do i miter cut corners on wall tiles.
Place the piece of tile onto the tray of the miter saw.
Turn the angle gauge clockwise until it is oriented to the left hand 45 degree angle setting.
Cut a 45 degree angle in a piece of trim with a miter saw.
Then make the cope to fit into it.
Measure from the edge of the last tile in a course to the corner.
The last step is to hit all the cut surfaces and sharp corners with a 60 grit diamond hand pad before installation.
On the contrary if you have to install cut tiles you should spread the thinset to the back of the tiles and install it with the cut edge pointing towards the inside corner.
After i get the miter close with the diamond blade i switch to a 200 grit polishing pad which offers more control as i sneak up on the perfect miter.
Pull the angle grinder carefully along the cut line to score the tile.
Cut a tile at that width on your tile cutter.
Cut all the way through the trim to create the corner angle.
Use a spray bottle to wet the tile with water to reduce dust.
So if your tile spacers are 1 8 inch you will subtract 3 8 inch from the space.
If you have to install full tiles along the internal corners we recommend you to spread tile adhesive directly to the wall by using a large notched trowel.
Prepare to make a straight cut using the fence the back of the tray to hold your piece of tile squarely with the blade.
On the first wall cut crown moulding for a butt joint in the corner.
Then position the trim to the right of the saw.
Subtract 1 4 inch from the measurement you come up with plus the width of a tile spacer.
Mitering tile is definitely more advanced and takes an attention to detail many are not willing to give.
Make a 45 degree inside miter cut on the piece to be coped.
