The last step is nailing on the top plates.
Make the opening the width of the door plus 2 inches 5 1 cm and if additional studs are needed a space for these as well.
Assemble a window opening in this order.
Either way will work fine.
One is to add a full length stud at the corners of the long garage walls when framing them or you can add 2 long pieces afterward with one at the top one at the bottom and one right in the center height of the wall.
Never cut a wall top plate.

Header requirement 2 at minimum the header should be 12 wide with doubled 2 4 at opening and ceiling running the width of the door with a 2 4 in the center of the opening for the center bracket to attach to.
With 2 4 framing that means you have to hold two cables running side by side tight to each other.
The code requires that you hold all wires at least 1 1 4 in.

You can do this two different ways.

This is the perfect location to mount garage door and garage door opener hardware.
The door frame will consist of two king studs which run the entire height of the wall frame.
Header the header is ideally a minimum 12 wide micro laminated beam that spans the width of the garage door opening.
And a horizontal header across the top of the door that preserves the structural integrity.
